{Shear Madness}

Right before Jordyn's 1st Haircut I was tempted to find a classic childhood salon, but opted to take her to the salon our friend owns.  I'm so glad I did, because it was perfect for her {classy & feminine} but when I started to think about Cullyn's first haircut I just couldn't see him in a salon and kept going back to the classic airplane chairs.  So, that's what we found.  It's a newer salon in West Des Moines, near Jordan Creek Mall.  And while it wasn't quite as Barber Shop{ish} as I had imagined, but of the kids loved it {Jordyn didn't get a haircut, she just played}.  I could totally see us coming back again.  The staff was very experienced and comfortable with children.  Plus, not only do they have 6 car/airplane chairs, they have little TVs to watch Frozen movies, stickers, and suckers!  And they're very reasonable priced, double bonus!

This is my effort to post more about our local adventures {Des Moines, Iowa area} since I am always looking for fun, new places to take the kids or go out with my hubby.

I've posted in the past about B&B DeliTriad TumblingZoo TotsThe RitzBaconfestBackyard AdventuresSkyZoneSculpture ParkZoo TunesIowa State Fair 2012Iowa State Fair 2013,  Tubing at SevenOaks in BooneFree Little LibrariesJumpin Jacks, and tons of local Christmas Activities.  I've briefly mentioned the farmer's market {which is a pretty big deal here} few concert and shows, and tons of restaurants, but there are so many places we've been and things we've experienced around this city that I haven't even mentioned.  I'm assuming others would like local suggestions.

*None of these places have any clue who I am or what this little blog is.  I pay for our entrance/membership like any other customer and blog only my honest opinions.
